Norfolk half term is 23 to 30 October 2026. Kids ride the Bure Valley Railway free, Blickling runs free archery and wand-making, BeWILDerwood goes Halloween.
Norfolk’s October half term runs from Friday 23 to Friday 30 October 2026, with schools back on Monday 2 November. Most of the big family attractions around the Broads have already put their half-term programmes up, and several are cheaper than usual that week.
Everything below comes from the attraction’s own website, checked on 25 September. Where something is still to be announced, we say so.

Bure Valley Railway: children travel free
For the whole week from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, up to two children travel free with every full-paying adult on the narrow-gauge steam line between Aylsham and Wroxham. There are Halloween-themed activities and the railway invites passengers to dress up.
The ride takes 45 minutes each way, and you can stop at Brampton, Buxton or Coltishall on request: ask when you collect your tickets. Parking is free at both Aylsham and Wroxham stations (Bure Valley Railway, Kids Go Free October Half Term).
Blickling Estate: activities included in admission
The National Trust has four half-term events at Blickling. None needs booking, all are included in normal admission, and all are free to members.
- Autumn Archery, Monday 26 October, 11am to 3pm.
- Nature Wands craft workshop, Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 October, 11am to 3pm. Children pick natural materials to make their own wand, in the stretch tent in the garden, or the Orangery if it is windy.
- Spooky Spokes, Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October, 10.30am to 3.30pm. A balance bike course for little ones and an obstacle course for older children.
- Family Nature Pack Walk, Thursday 29 October, 11am to noon. A guided garden walk looking for bugs, birds, fungi and mammals.
Only assistance dogs are allowed in the archery and activity areas (Blickling Estate events).
BeWILDerwood: Halloween week
BeWILDerwood’s Halloween runs over October weekends and then every day from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, 11am to 6pm. Children are encouraged to come in costume for Twig or Treating with the characters, with a trail sheet and a prize, face stencils and a spooky disco. The Glowing Light Trail starts as the sun goes down.
The park’s pricing rewards early booking: every advance booking gets 12.5% off, and a limited number of tickets on each date are 25% off (BeWILDerwood Halloween). Remember that everyone who goes in needs a ticket, adults included.
Wroxham Barns: Magic and Mischief, and the pumpkin patch
Magic and Mischief runs from Friday 23 October to Sunday 1 November, 10am to 5pm, with Wilma the Witch’s potion trail through the maize maze, a witchy workshop and a Broomstick Bootcamp obstacle course, alongside the usual Adventure Farm. Wroxham Barns says full details are still to come (Magic and Mischief).
The Pumpkin Patch is separate and free to enter, open 10am to 4pm on the weekends of 10 and 11 and 17 and 18 October and then daily from 24 to 31 October. Pumpkins are grown on site and priced individually from £2, there is an undercover carving area, and dogs are welcome (Pumpkin Patch).
ROARR!, Lenwade: Halloween Days
The dinosaur park at Lenwade runs Halloween Days in October, with a Spooky Maze for little ones, four haunt mazes for older children, craft sessions, live shows and meet and greets. The park warns that some PrimEvil rides and props may be visible during the day, and asks parents of easily frightened children to speak to Guest Services first (Halloween Days at ROARR!).
PrimEvil, the after-dark scare event, runs on selected October nights. It is a separate ticket, not suitable for young children, and ROARR! says full 2026 details are “coming soon” (PrimEvil at ROARR!).
Pettitts Adventure Park, Reedham: last week of the season
Pettitts opens every day from 10am to 5pm and its 2026 season ends on Sunday 1 November, so half term is the last chance this year. The car park is free. The park may close in particularly bad weather, so check its Facebook page or ring 01493 700094 if the forecast looks poor (Pettitts opening times).
