The 78th Aylsham Show fills Blickling Park on Monday 31 August. Advance tickets £22 until midnight on 30 August, £26 on the gate; under-16s and parking free.

The 78th Aylsham Show is on Bank Holiday Monday 31 August 2026 in the parkland of the Blickling estate, with gates opening to the public at 8.30am. Adult tickets cost £22 in advance with no booking fees, online up to midnight on Sunday 30 August, or £26 on show day at the gate, where both cash and card are taken. Accompanied children aged 16 and under go free, and so does car parking.

Paper tickets at the advance price are also on sale, cash only, at shops across the area from Monday 3 August until Sunday 30 August, including outlets in Aylsham, Sprowston, Wroxham, North Walsham, Cromer, Holt, Sheringham, Stalham, Fakenham and Swaffham. What’s in the main ring

The main ring programme is headed by the Bolddog FMX freestyle motocross display team and the Jump Dogs parachute display team, alongside a heavy horses display, a jousting display from O G Performance Horses, pony club mounted games, private and trade driving classes, and the grand parade with the presentation of cups and trophies.

Three free children’s events run in the main ring through the day: the fancy dress competition at 1pm (register by 12.50pm), the sack races at 2pm and the tug of war at 5.45pm.

Countryside ring and around the showground

The countryside ring hosts Fens Falconry, Bob Hogg’s sheepdog and duck and geese display and his Lamb National sheep race, Home Run Hounds Eastern Counties greyhounds, Wills Working Spaniels, the Norfolk Military Vehicles Group and the Starting Handle Club.

Elsewhere on the showground, Circus Ferrel performs from 9.30am to 4.30pm, chainsaw carving runs in the rural crafts area at 11.30am, 1pm and 2pm, and there are livestock and horse classes, a food, farming and countryside discovery zone, trade stands and a cookery theatre, whose timetable is still to be confirmed. One change from previous years: the organisers say the art marquee will not take place in 2026.

The show is run by the Aylsham Agricultural Show Association, a registered charity (number 298673). The association says the show has donated over £1.1 million to mainly local charitable organisations since it began in 1946, and typically draws between 14,000 and 17,000 visitors.

Getting there

The satnav address is Blickling Park, Blickling Estate, Norwich NR11 6NF. Parking is free and stewarded, on grass; the organisers ask drivers to keep moving and follow the stewards to the public car parks. Blue badge holders can park forward of the public parking near the main entrance, and are advised to arrive early. There are no hard surfaces at the showground, so expect grass walkways and some uneven ground.

Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads unless they are part of a display, and the organisers strongly recommend leaving flat-faced breeds such as bulldogs at home.

What it means for you

Buying online before midnight on Sunday 30 August saves £4 an adult, so two adults pay £44 instead of £52 at the gate, and with under-16s and parking free that is the full cost of a family day out.
